The founder of an organization for Muslim Republicans swiftly shut down Fox News host Megyn Kelly for suggesting mosques are “hotbeds for political activity” during a panel interview Tuesday night.

Kelly asked Saba Ahmed, founder of the Republican Muslim Coalition, to respond to research from “experts” that shows “the mosques tend to be hotbeds for political activity, not as much religious activity.”

“Megyn, we go to the mosque to pray,” Ahmed, clad in a red, white, and blue hijab, calmly responded.

She continued: “The mosque has nothing to do with the terrorists. Yes, there are people who misuse religion for their perverted ideology, but that has nothing to do with my faith.”

After Ahmed suggested that Donald Trump, who has suggested shuttering mosques as an anti-terror strategy, visit at local mosque rather than “alienate” Muslim voters, Trump 2016 spokeswoman Katrina Person responded that “it’s not about alienation.”

“You have to investigate and you have to implement due process. If it’s one person fine, but if it’s the entire mosque it needs to be shut down,” Pierson responded.
